‘I Want Your Sex,’ ‘Girls Like Girls’ and ‘Leviticus’ Among Frameline50’s 2026 Line-Up

Gregg Araki’s “I Want Your Sex,” Hayley Kiyoko’s “Girls Like Girls” and Adrian Chiarella’s “Leviticus” are among the many titles set to display in the course of the San Francisco Worldwide LGBTQ+ Movie Pageant (Frameline50), Frameline introduced Tuesday. The competition will happen June 17 by way of 27 throughout venues in San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland.

Framline50 will open with D’Arcy Drollinger’s “Lady Champagne.” Different highlights embrace narrative options like  John Early’s “Maddie’s Secret,” Xiaodan He’s “Montreal, My Beautiful,” Alice Maio Mackay’s “Our Effed Up World and Gary Jaffe’s “Before I Do.” Documentary screenings embrace David Shadrack Smith’s “Public Access,” Jeffrey Schwarz’s “Mineshaft: The Cruising Murders” and Alexandria Stapleton’s “The Brittney Griner Story.” Over 140 movies from 35 nations shall be screened over the course of the competition.

Colman Domingo will even be introduced with the Variety Creative Conscience Award on June 19, after which he shall be joined in dialog by Selection’s Jazz Tangcay. Kai Stänicke’s “Trial of Hein” shall be honored with Frameline’s annual Out within the Silence Award. underwritten by Dean Hamer and Joe Wilson, the honour shines a lightweight on an excellent movie that highlights courageous acts of LGBTQ+ visibility.

“It is an unbelievable privilege to lead this organization during our landmark 50th festival. The lead up to this anniversary has happened alongside this looming, all-pervading sense that a revolution — both political and moral — is mounting. Now, the 50th is here. And so is the revolution. Our rights are being taken away now. Attacks on our bodies and identities are happening now. And it is precisely this moment that 50 years of queer cinema matters most,” stated Allegra Madsen, Frameline’s govt director. “The legacy we are celebrating now is our living inheritance and the filmmakers we are showcasing this year are expanding it, dreaming of queer futures we haven’t thought to imagine, and documenting the revolution as it happens. Frameline50 is where the two generations meet: The community that built this festival built it for this moment. This is our moment to use it.”

Tickets for all packages shall be on sale on Wednesday.
