“A Good Hand Wasted,” an upcoming unique movie starring Terrence Howard, will likely be launched Nov. 6 on Turnstr+, a brand new streaming platform.
Described as a psychological thriller, the official description of the film reads, “During a complimentary luxury trip to an exclusive private island, six longtime friends are drawn into a high-stakes poker game inside a secluded estate, where the rules become increasingly dangerous and the night forces each of them to confront loyalty, guilt, and the true cost of survival.”
Along with “Empire” and “Hustle & Flow” star Howard, Jessica Lindsey, Chelsea Tavares, Ninja Devoe, Giovanni Watson, Jonathan Hugh and Phil Tyler are set to star.
Howard stated, “These brothers and sisters on set that I’m working with are thespians. There’s no games, no shucking and jiving, everybody is really bringing their A-game. Hopefully, the audience will learn to appreciate living in the moment and appreciate life as it stands and not have to risk their lives just to feel alive. Life is supposed to be lived and appreciated, not taken for granted. So, I’m hoping people will gain that perspective: that you don’t push the envelope on this one gift that very few individuals really get.”
“A Good Hand Wasted” is directed by Rhyan Lamarr and his manufacturing firm Crimson Collective, marking the primary launch of Lamarr’s three-film cope with Turnstr+. Lamarr stated, “’A Good Hand Wasted’ represents everything I love about independent filmmaking — simple, character-driven storytelling that proves you don’t need spectacle to create something cinematic. I’m excited and grateful to be working with Turnstr+ on their originals, with this being my first of three projects. They’re creating real opportunities for directors, and that’s something special. Launching October 2, Turnstr+ goals to symbolize “a new generation of entertainment,” specializing in creator-driven and audience-focused unique content material.
