Distributor 1-2 Particular has acquired all North American rights to La Gradiva, the debut characteristic from French filmmaker and cinematographer Marine Atlan, which gained best film at this year’s Cannes Critics’ Week. A theatrical launch is deliberate, with dates to be introduced.
The movie follows a bunch of highschool college students on a category journey to Naples who, amid the ruins of Pompeii, are overtaken by surges of want, anger, and despair. Atlan co-wrote the script with Anne Brouillet and in addition served as cinematographer alongside Pierre Mazoyer.
Earlier than transferring to directing, Atlan constructed her profession behind the digicam on movies together with Jessica Perpetually, The Rapture, Summer season Scars, and Queens of Drama. La Gradiva was produced by Inès Daïen Dasi of Les Movies du Poisson, with Angelo Barbagallo as co-producer and Yaël Fogiel and Laetitia Gonzalez as affiliate producers. The deal was negotiated by mk2 on behalf of the filmmakers.
