Belgium-based firm Kinepolis has acquired the Showcase Cinemas circuit within the U.S. from Harbor Lights Entertainment (previously Nationwide Amusements). Showcase runs 13 cinemas together with seven in Massachusetts, 4 in New York, one in Ohio and one in Rhode Island.
The settlement contains possession of six cinemas, whereas the others are operated beneath lease agreements. The acquisition is anticipated to be accomplished by the top of summer season.
Managed by the Ellison household, Harbor Lights was created after David Ellison acquired Nationwide Amusements from the Redstones.
The pact provides Kinepolis 164 screens so as to add to its portfolio that features 122 cinemas worldwide, for a complete of 1,314 screens. The high-end Showcase Cinemas noticed roughly 4 million guests in 2025, in accordance with Kinepolis, which generated over $90 million in revenues. In Europe, Kinepolis operates 63 cinemas in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Poland, in addition to 35 places in Canada and 24 in america.
