A characteristic set within the cutthroat world of Hollywood is heading towards the end line.
Quiver Distribution has acquired North American rights to filmmaker Jeffrey Scott Collins’ darkish heist comedy Above the Line, The Hollywood Reporter has discovered. Sophia Ali, Cedric the Entertainer, Gregg Henry, Reno Wilson, Jamie Lee, Dylan Playfair, Jackson Tempo and John Approach spherical out the film’s forged.
Following its premiere in December on the Sun Valley Movie Pageant, Above the Line is ready to have a small theatrical run earlier than its digital launch through Quiver on June 26.
Described as being set in the identical vein of Swingers and Pulp Fiction, Above the Line facilities on six Hollywood hopefuls who got down to steal the perfect image awards of a producer who wronged them.
Collins helmed the indie film from a script he co-wrote with Jono Matt. Ian Michaels produces for Inexperienced Step Productions, alongside Kemma Filby and Walker Barnes for Seasick Studios and Collins for This Appears Reel Leisure. Cedric the Entertainer, who beforehand collaborated with Collins on Poor Greg Drowning, government produces alongside Matt, Joe Grano, Ned Kisner, Lan Kisner and the rapper Logic.
Larry Greenberg negotiated the deal on behalf of Quiver, whereas Clay Epstein of Movie Mode Leisure negotiated for the filmmakers.

All of that is wrapped in a twisted love letter to the dark crime noir comedies of the ’90s that I grew up on.
