Bangkok-based gross sales and distribution outfit Fearfolks has acquired world gross sales rights to “Someone Special,” a Thai-Chinese language thriller co-directed by Petong Sakulchai and Ariel Cheng, and can signify the title on the Cannes Market.
Sirat Intarachote (“4 Kings,” “4 Kings 2,” “App War”) stars as Rain, a younger painter crippled with deep-seated violent tendencies who confronts his demons after an sudden assembly with a therapist — performed by Anyarin Terathananpat (“The Djinn’s Curse”) — residing one ground above him. The therapist conceals her personal malignant vices behind smiles and heat, and the 2 share secrets and techniques that neither is ready for.
