“24 Jump Street” is within the works, and stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube are in talks to return for the third installment within the R-rated crime comedy franchise.
Rodney Rothman (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”) will direct the movie and wrote the script with Hill and Meghan Malloy. Additionally returning are producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller — who helmed the primary two movies, 2012’s “21 Jump Street” and 2014’s “22 Jump Street” — and Neal H. Moritz.
“21 Jump Street” starred Hill and Tatum as Schmidt and Jenko, a few underachieving cops who go undercover at a neighborhood highschool to take down a drug ring. The movie, which marked Lord and Miller’s live-action directorial debut, grossed greater than $200 million worldwide. Ice Dice performs their superior, Captain Dickson. The sequel, which noticed the Hill and Tatum repeat their undercover schtick in school, topped that complete with a $331 million field workplace haul.
A 3rd installment of the profitable “Jump Street” movie franchise has been in improvement at Sony for greater than a decade. At current, Tatum solely has a proposal to return for “24 Jump Street”; negotiations are anticipated.
