New Europe Film Sales has closed the primary presale on its upcoming 3D household animation “Nina and the Goddess of Thunder,” which has a manufacturing funds of seven.5 million euros ($8.77 million).
French rights have been picked up by KMBO, the main distributor for animation, whose releases embrace “Ozi: Voice of the Forest,” “10 Lives” and “The Amazing Maurice.” New Europe is in talks with extra distributors and expects to shut extra territories in Cannes.
“Nina and the Goddess of Thunder,” which was pitched at this 12 months’s Cartoon Film, is about to start out manufacturing in 2027 with supply deliberate for late 2029.
It’s the first feature-length movie by Kamil Polak, whose 2011 animated quick “The Lost Town of Świteź” was chosen by the Berlinale and gained the primary movie award at Annecy.
Set within the tenth century in Poland’s primeval Białowieża forest, “Nina and the Goddess of Thunder” is an journey movie set on the planet of Slavic mythology.
