Heidi Gardner and William H. Macy are able to make a splash with their forthcoming dramedy characteristic.
Gardner and Macy are set to star within the indie film The Swimming Lesson from writer-director Casey Twenter, The Hollywood Reporter has discovered. Manufacturing is scheduled to start this summer time in Gardner’s hometown of Kansas Metropolis.
The Swimming Lesson facilities on Tay (Gardner), a single mom who leaves behind her difficult life in Los Angeles to return to her childhood dwelling. She winds up embroiled in a custody battle over son Albee, an autistic little one who’s obsessive about the ocean however fearful of swimming. Macy co-stars as Leonard, Tay’s foul-mouthed father whose blunt nature can typically disguise the truth that he stays loyal to his daughter and grandson.
Making his solo directorial characteristic debut, Twenter helmed the venture from a script he co-wrote with Jeff Robison. Twenter and Robison beforehand co-wrote the 2014 drama Rudderless, which marked Macy’s directorial debut and landed distribution after premiering at Sundance.
The Swimming Lesson’s producers embrace Dan Koetting for KP’s Stay and Robison for Kindling Productions, together with Jen Greenstreet and Mandi Kearns for Simply Like You Movies. Mark Williams serves as director of pictures, and Mateo Messina is composing the music. Spark Casting’s Stefanie Seifer and Hailey Giles are dealing with casting.
