The eleventh version of the Moebius Showcase, Artistic Artists Company’s annual screening sequence spotlighting graduate scholar filmmakers and their work, has unveiled the lineup for this 12 months’s Could 27-28 run.
CAA Moebius will display quick movies directed by scholar filmmakers from high movie colleges, together with the American Film Institute Conservatory, New York College, Columbia College, Chapman University, the College of Southern California, Florida State College and the College of Texas at Austin.
The primary night time showcase will function Columbia graduate Greta Diaz Moreau with Loquita Por Ti; Changing into, from Chapman graduate Aidan Forte; NYU graduate Harold Kahane’s The Various Decision; UT-Austin graduate India Opzoomer’s Poster Boy; and Dongmei, from NYU graduate Rubing Zhang.
The second night time screenings have booked Membership Rats, by AFI graduate Grace Godvin; Aayat, from USC graduating director Sonia Bhatia; AFI graduate Alex Bush’s Beware The Wolves; Norheimsund, from NYU graduate Ana Alpizar; and Kumquat, from FSU graduate director Lex Lee Morales.
The committee behind the eleventh version consists of Derrick Davidian, Emily Ref, John O’Shea, Katy Needham, Laila Ghosheh, Milo Pepper, Ryan Uria, Sammie Johnson, Seth Parker, Walter Szafran and CAA alum Chloe Landau, now at Netflix.
CAA Moebius will this 12 months introduce Moebius Labs, a sequence of workshops and casual conversations permitting collaborating filmmakers direct entry to key movie and TV creatives, producers and executives. This 12 months’s Lab audio system embody screenwriter Julia Cox in dialog with Liz Suggs; producer Jessie Henderson; filmmaker David F. Sandberg and CAA Movement Image literary brokers.
The showcase may even see appearances by Palm Springs filmmaker and Moebius alum Max Barbakow and a yet-to-be-announced Oscar-winning author and director. Every will host a night and ship opening remarks to have a good time the subsequent era of storytellers, in accordance with CAA.
