Matt Miller, an NFL draft analyst for ESPN, says his left arm was amputated after he was concerned in a automobile accident final week.
Miller wrote on X Tuesday that he “sustained significant injuries, including multiple fractures and broken ribs” within the crash. “I also underwent a life-saving amputation of my left arm. While I have a long road ahead, I’m focused on my recovery and taking things one day at a time.”
Per local news reports, Miller was recognized as the motive force of a Ford Bronco that crossed the middle line of a freeway in Jasper County, Missouri, on June 17 and collided with a semi truck. The driving force of the semi wasn’t injured. Miller was airlifted to a hospital in Joplin after the crash.
“I’m deeply grateful for the exceptional care I have received, from the first responders to the doctors, nurses and medical staff. I’m incredibly fortunate to be writing this,” Miller wrote. “Thank you for the overwhelming support, prayers and kind messages — they have meant so much to me and my family during this time.”
“ESPN’s thoughts are with Matt Miller & his loved ones,” the community stated in an announcement. “We wish him strength in his recovery and look forward to seeing him back at ESPN when he’s ready.”
