“Fall” and “Shazam!” star Grace Caroline Currey is about to guide the forged of upcoming elevated crime thriller “Dead Miles,” being launched within the Cannes market by VMI Worldwide.
The movie — from Minds Eye Leisure — is being directed and written by Tom Levesque (“Shut Eye”) and is slated to start manufacturing in British Columbia.
Currey might be enjoying Ellen, a struggling gig-economy employee whose pursuit of turning into a web-based influencer takes a darkish and harmful flip when she meets Nelson, a risky and unpredictable legal. He drags her via a brutal evening of violent heists that forces her to confront simply how far she’s keen to go — and what she’s able to when she will get there.
The movie is being produced by Minds Eye Leisure’s Kevin DeWalt and Benjamin DeWalt, in addition to Eva Trebilco of Lumin Productions and govt producer Emma Slade of Velvet Moss.
“Grace Caroline Currey brings the vulnerability and grounded, visceral intensity needed for the role. After her standout performance in ‘Fall,’ we knew she was the perfect choice to navigate the dark, high-stakes underworld of Dead Miles,” stated DeWalt. “We are thrilled to partner once again with VMI Worldwide to launch this timely and gripping thriller to the global market in Cannes.”
Added VMI CEO Andre Relis: “Minds Eye Entertainment continues to produce quality genre films and are preferred production partners of ours. We are looking forward to presenting another Minds Eye film in Cannes.”
VMI Worldwide will launch worldwide gross sales on the Cannes market, presenting the venture to patrons with principal images set to begin shortly thereafter.
The movie is a treaty co-production between Canada and New Zealand. Filming will happen throughout varied areas in British Columbia.
