Hugh Laurie (The Evening Supervisor, Home) and Joe Alwyn (The Brutalist, The Favorite) have joined Matthew Macfadyen, Charlie Hunnam and Daniel Brühl within the BBC and MGM+‘s John le Carré adaptation Legacy of Spies.
Tailored from le Carré’s international bestseller, The Spy Who Got here in from the Chilly, and drawing on materials from his 2017 novel A Legacy of Spies, the eight-part drama is written by Stephen Cornwell and Clarissa Ingram.
The present will mark spymaster George Smiley’s long-anticipated return to tv with Macfadyen within the iconic function and Hunnam because the embattled, world-weary agent-runner and area operative, Alec Leamas. Laurie will play Management, the fiendish and commanding head of The Circus, Smiley’s morally fickle superior, identified solely by his code identify.
